Did you had try checksum it before flash? It will probably solve your problem
I had same problem with SID904 but your file is not prepared correctly, I got a correct file and it flashed with out error.
ive been trying to flash a file onto a edc17cv42 ecm off a 2014 n13 prostar truck but keep getting "operation not allowed" error. ktag is an eu clone. i can write to a edc17cv42 off an older maxxforce truck without a problem, it's only this n13 ecm that gives that error. read it fine but won't write.
Hi
I tried to clone a MEG17.9.12 , I was able to read ori . Could not read fully the clone ecu , I attempted to write ori into clone its says "operation not allowed"
Clone ecu read will give only corrupted data with less file size
Any ideas how to do it
Simply Clone the full less Size backup to the other new ecu with same plugin you choose when read old ecu (Choose any plugin at the window of not identified ) but use same at read and write , ktag will not let you read flash only , only full backup is working
Thanks it worked
So the correct procedure is to save ori as a full backup not as separate files .EPR and .MPC. Then restore full ori backup to the clone using the same method of read (in this case was MEG17.9.11 not MEG17.9.12 although ECU is MEG17.9.12
I have KTAG fw7.020, I'm able to Read/Write whatever i want without any issue,
Except with VAG EDC17CP14.. I'm able to Read it properly and get the files but I'm not able to Write back the tuned file.
Car : Vw Jetta 2.0TDI 2009
I even tried to Write the the original file and i got the same error.
Error : Operation Not Allowed
Does Ktag show you option for Patch the files?
I've read/write many EDC17CP14 with my clone Ktag v6.070 without any problems for now.
===========================
1) Make a backup
2) Hit the "Enable" button
3) Select the backup file
4) Wait for the operations to complete
5) For any changes to the ECU, you must use the files containing the word "Patch"
===========================
If nothing works, maybe you should use Galletto v54 (if you have it) to force the writing.
I don't know what would be the cause if you don't use Patch option.
I always use it as I write you in procedure, and never had problems with it. You can try that option, and after you have backup_Patch files, try to write it again backup_Patch file to see if the same error shows up.
Also, do you solder Boot Pin on the board as Ktag says?
read with ktag clone , wrote mod file fine car no start , tried to flash ori but operation not allowed
please note when read wouldnt allow read unless read each section separate?
any body have a full restore ori please ?

files attached from reads
How you read these files ? 4 files with 3 different ... i think you have bad read. which was ori read ? SW number is same, but whole dump structure address offset way far. try flash ext file back in and try start ..
First make the effort: introduce-yourself
I'm using the same tool for reading and writing but gives error.
As .MPC file is raw format then it should not be a problem which tool are you using. It's like a bin file.
I don't know why this happen.
Any one had tried with KTAG to write .MPC OR bin file??
